Welcome to another adventure with my D&D Group. Previously, K-Krew had made one last jump to Vincinnati, the home world of the Vin Doppelgangers. They arrived in the middle of the ocean, where they were found by the Vins. K-Krew made a convincing story about capturing Cent Kelsier for the 100,000 Gold Piece bounty. The Vins accepted this story—but were skeptical about the virus raging inside the Wave Rider—and escorted K-Krew into Vincinnati, leading them to the Council of Vins.
Here, they learned about Gilgamesh and Cybertron joining forces to find their children. K-Krew had a conversation among themselves about this new development, completely ignoring the Council of Vins. Once they finished messing around though, The Council offered them a job. Vincinnati was in the middle of a war against the Venture Nation, an empire ruled by Fire Genasi Lord Venture. They needed K-Krew to infiltrate and gather intel on their next move, considering Venture’s Comet was approaching across the multiverse. This Comet would amplify their powerful Fire Bending 100x, giving them the power necessary to win the war and conquer Vincinnati.
K-Krew agreed to the job once they were offered 50,000 more Gold Pieces in addition to the 100,000 they were already getting. Killion was also interested in learning Water Breathing Techniques, wanting to become a Water Bender like the Vins. However, he had to learn from Vinjiro, a Vin who had to learn the Water Breathing Techniques since he couldn’t naturally Water Bend like the rest of his people. Unlike most Vins, he is a super-friendly Pro Hero that annoyed K-Krew with his kindness. The first Vin they met who wasn’t a complete jerk.
Vinjiro escorted K-Krew to their prison on the bottom level of the Ice Fortress, where Cent Kelsier was held. Vin Menos was also held there with over-the-top security measures. Cent Kelsier was just trapped inside a Water Prison Jutsu Sphere. K-Krew explained the plan to Cent, who agreed since he had little choice in the matter. The Council of Vins agreed to postpone Cent’s trial until the war was over. After this meeting, K-Krew hopped over to Vin Menos—a Vin from the previous campaign—because they wanted to meet one of the most famous criminals in all of the multiverse.
Vin Menos was intimidating; the players could sense how powerful he was. They could also sense how desperate he was to be freed from this prison. He believed he was only trapped in this prison for 10 years, not realizing that 400 years had already gone by. The Vins restricted him completely, even forcing a mask on him to rob him of his vision. Vin Menos also sensed Eri Menos—the girl K-Krew saved back in season 2—somewhere nearby. He offered his assistance in waking her up in exchange for her freedom. K-Krew refused and left him to rot.
Vinjiro brought K-Krew on board his ship, making small talk with his backstory while they journeyed to the Venture Nation. Vinjiro explained he wanted revenge against Fire Lord Venture because he killed his family and burned his twin sister—Vinessa—with black flames called Amaterasu. She is permanently scarred and unable to move or breathe on her own.
Vinjiro wants to find a cure and kill the Fire Lord for what he’s done to his family. Then he offered Killion Water Genasi DNA, so he could learn how the ways of the Water Breathing. Vinjiro was more than willing to teach Killion new techniques.
Killion accepted the DNA and injected himself with it, adding that to everything else—Gilgamesh bloodline, dragon yolk keeping him alive, vampire blood coursing through his veins, and Rui’s spider demon infection—he was. No wonder Gilgamesh wanted to kill his bastard son; he kept corrupting the Godly bloodline. WIFI and Gundam were surprised at how polluted Killion’s gene pool was becoming. Killion Gilgamesh wanted to become everything at this point.
Once they arrived at Venture Nation, K-Krew decided to beat the crap out of Vinjiro so it looks like K-Krew will be joining the Venture Nation as heroes for hire. Vinjiro agreed and was beaten more than needed. K-Krew brought Vinjiro as their prisoner, offering him to the guards in exchange for a talk with the War Generals. Killion also asked if they had any Fire Genasi DNA he could have. One of the guards said they could talk later about making a trade. On the way to the war room, they noticed a huge ass volcano and wondered what that was about.
Once they arrived at the war room, K-Krew and the Venture Generals discussed the deal they could make. Since Gilgamesh and Cybertron are working together to destroy their sons’ hero reputations, the Venture Nation—self-proclaimed villains—were willing to hire them to infiltrate Vincinnati for intel. K-Krew accepted this mission for 3,000 Gold Pieces. Killion also begged for the ways of fire bending.
A Venture General told him there was one way to do it, and that would be to jump into a volcano appeasing their Fire Lord God. Killion was actually “what the fuck”, thinking he could inject himself, but he was willing to hop into a volcano and risk death if it didn’t work out. Dying was no big deal to Killion at this point.
Killion jumped into the hell volcano and burned near to death. However, he did connect with Fire Lord Venture, the God of this Nation. He offered Killion the power to fire bend, but the child must surrender his soul and deliver Vin Menos to him in exchange for this great power. Gundam and WIFI begged him not to take the deal. Killion refused, not wanting to serve another person, and tried to escape the volcano consuming his flesh and feathers; his wings were charred to a crisp alongside everything else. With Gundam and WIFI’s help, Killion escaped severely burned.
He healed himself using Cure Wounds, but his hair was gone. Killion hated being bald, but at least he was alive. After this, they went back to the war room to investigate what they came here for: the war plans. K-Krew attended the war room meeting, where Killion had an awkward reunion with Fire Lord Venture, the God who tried to consume him for refusing to serve him. Killion tried to hide from the God, but he rolled a NAT 1. Things were indeed awkward.
Fire Lord Venture explained how he’ll burn Vincinnati to the ground using the power of the comet. His Amaterasu will be amplified so he’ll be able to easily burn everyone down with a single glance. Then he demonstrated this power to K-Krew by destroying all seven war generals instantly. K-Krew were terrified at the sheer power of Amaterasu and its augmented form once the comet arrived. Gundam also revealed his secret power—the Burstinatrix Beam—and “demonstrated” on WIFI to prove their worth to the Fire Lord. A NAT 20 allowed the demonstration to look real, impressing the Fire Lord immensely. WIFI pretended to get knocked down and didn’t want to get up because he feared the Venture Nation.
After this, K-Krew was dismissed. Fire Lord Venture also allowed them to take Vinjiro back, having no need for a Vin prisoner that wasn’t Vin Menos. K-Krew were more than happy to take back Vinjiro. They quickly escaped, but not before meeting up with that guard—Venture Guard #1500—for a drug trade. In exchange for 2,000 Gold Pieces, #1500 gave them a sample of Fire Lord Venture’s blood mixed with Amaterasu. It could be the key to making Killion a fire bender or a cure for the Amaterasu burns that Vinjiro’s twin sister was suffering from.
K-Krew left Venture Nation with it. They originally stayed for an hour, hoping the guard could get more samples, but he was murdered by the Fire Lord since he was pushing his luck. The Fire Lord believed this was an assassination attempt, but he didn’t believe K-Krew was involved. K-Krew quickly left once they realized they weren’t going to get more samples. They had to protect this one with their lives. Killion proceeded to mess around with it—tossing it between his hands and pretending to drop it a few times.
Everyone made it back to Vincinnati, where they shared what they discovered with The Council of Vins. They were impressed and sent K-Krew to give the blood sample to Doctor Vin, their top doctor and surgeon. On the way, K-Krew were reunited with their teacher Professor Mirna from HERO Academy.
Last time they saw Professor Mirna was back during the earlier episodes—sessions—of first season. She had left early on to find ways to help Professor Mas O escape his prison in Ninth Hell. K-Krew almost forgot Professor Mas O was trapped there because he sacrificed himself for them. They asked how the progress was going, and Professor Mirna said not great. It was the reason why she came to Vincinnati: to see Vin Menos.
In the meantime, Professor Mirna was more than willing to help the Vins win the war alongside her former students. She expressed how proud she was of Killion and Gundam for becoming Pro Heroes in a short amount of time. She also asked where Kai-Ku was. They had no idea, but they suspect he was getting in trouble as usual. Professor Mirna then lead K-Krew to the Spiritual Oasis, where they could consult with the Great Moon Goddess Yue for wisdom and guidance on how to fully utilize Gundam’s ultimate attack plan.
During Professor Mirna’s heroic journey—about six weeks since she left HERO Academy—to rescue Professor Mas O, she learned how to access the Spirit World and taught K-Krew to use their Spirit Energy to access this plane of existence. Using Gundam as their medium—the most spiritually aware with his consistent NAT 20—they entered the Spirit World.
Great Moon Goddess Yue in all her gorgeousness was there to meet them on the other side, offering K-Krew her wisdom and guidance. She told them that the spiritual water of the Oasis mixed with the blood of Fire Lord Venture should create an efficient vaccine for the Amaterasu Flames; she also offered to help Gundam with his last-minute ultimate attack by using the moon as his satellite. Gundam was surprised that this half-assed plan might actually work out in their favor. Then, they abruptly departed the Spirit World to stop a hooded assassin from killing Yue’s physical fish form in the pond.
They found Professor Mirna—remember she’s immortal—disabled and stabbed with an ice blade against a tree. Then K-Krew disabled the hooded assassin quickly, revealing himself to be Marvelous Johnson from HERO Academy.
Marvelous was infected with a bad red eye—Sharingan—because he too jumped into the volcano and submitted to the Fire Lord’s will. Gundam shot the eye, temporarily severing the connection between Fire Lord Venture and Marvelous. Professor Mirna recovered and couldn’t believe a former student of hers had succumbed to such evil. Gundam said this was no time for a school reunion and rushed everyone to Dr. Vin to perform surgery on Marvelous’ infected eye. They also theorized that they could extract more blood from the procedure.
Once Marvelous was carted off to surgery, K-Krew asked Dr. Vin for the blood sample back. They planned to drop it into the Oasis, hoping the mixture will create a vaccine for all the Water Genasi people. After a minute of not being able to find it, Dr. Vin handed the blood over to them. The session ended with K-Krew running off to the Oasis to test out their theory.
The next session will be Season 3 Episode 5—the mid-season finale and half-point—so stayed tune to see what happens next! Will WIFI master the Breath of the Carrot? Can Killion become a true Chimera?
