Genshin Impact “Chapter 5: Dangerous Grounds” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact’s Chapter 5: Dangerous Grounds Parts 1 and 2. The story is actually becoming easier to follow along with Amber being established as the main protagonist. This chapter is centered around Amber going after Il Dottore and running into a camp of hilichurls.
Parts 1 and 2 were action-driven, showing how well Amber can fight—which isn’t too well—with a bunch of rocks. This action sequence and how she fought reminded me of her awful gameplay in the video game. The artwork had been a consistent highlight throughout the reading experience, and seeing Amber fight and move and run was pretty entertaining.
I also did like how this Webtoon showcased the action, and how the video game took inspiration from it to create the gameplay. I have no idea why Amber doesn’t have her bow, but it is what it is—at least the story is getting better to read. Maybe she isn’t strong yet, which she herself admitted when contemplating whether or not she should fight.
The mysterious young girl—having fallen asleep in the library—was briefly seen with Jean and Lisa at the start of the chapter. Jean and Lisa discussed the girl’s condition, and how they hope she will find peace and love in the city someday. Then the Vision starts lighting up, which indicated Amber being in danger.
Jean saving Amber with her elemental burst was a great piece of artwork, which made the cliffhanger all the more amazing. I love Jean’s character design—obviously due to her Saber resemblance—and how her elemental burst was drawn to knock back Il Dottore’s latest monster creation. The story elements are getting simpler, easier to follow, and more interesting now that we have a main character to follow.
Chapter 6: Wind and Fyre should be a good time with Jean joining the fight! I’m finally seeing a brighter side in reading this Webtoon. Thanks for reading this Webtoon review, everyone! Let’s keep it reading! Jean is about to kick some ass!
