Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle: “Workshop Battle” (Episodes 56 and 57) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On September 6, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle’s fifth story arc: “Workshop Battle”. This arc showed all the participants—Team Sweet and Sour and Team Leesoo specifically—arriving on the 30th Floor. We also learned that Khun is officially on the same boat as Viole, with everyone needing to believe he was dead for their own protection.
I’m excited to revisit Team Leesoo the most. It has been a long time since we last saw these characters fully present in the narrative. Androssi’s interview scene was cute and funny. It’s good to have you back. I do wonder how they’re going to handle facing off against Khun’s new team in The Workshop Battle, and how Khun will hide his identity from them.
Viole also had some screen time in this arc, helping someone named the Traveler escape from Workshop Patrols after freeing Novick and Ran from their shackles. Strangely enough, this arc permitted Viole to have Baam-like humorous moments, which I greatly appreciated. Baam’s eyes are also seen way more often in the artwork whenever these moments happen. Emile also made a brief cameo in this part of the story when Traveler asked her for advice on what to do next.
While the fifth story arc was short-lived, the cliffhanger did set-up the next game called One Shot, One Opportunity—the same name as the next arc. All the games in the Tower of God—while complex to understand in nature—were entertaining to read so far, so I’m sure this latest game won’t be any different.
I’m intrigued to see where the Emile AI thing goes too in addition to Viole and Traveler dealing with Blue Dog—a level 30 Workshop Patrol Robot that is impossible to defeat “unless you’re a Zahard Princess or Jue Viole Grace”…
The inevitable fight scene should be fun to watch.
