Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle: “Epilogue” (Episodes 108 through 110) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On September 8, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle’s fourteenth story arc: “Epilogue”. As a result, I have completed my reading on The Workshop Battle story. The lightheartedness of the ending was a much-needed break from everything the characters experienced throughout Volume 2’s The Workshop Battle narrative. Baam was finally allowed to be himself, he was together again with his original teammates, and he went on a date with Androssi. The comedic entourage—Rak leading the charge—was great.
Khun—wanting to preserve this happy reunion—decided to split the team in two, so one team will be focused on eliminating Rachel. Speaking of this awful character, Rachel returned to meet up with Traveler and Cassano with Emile in tow. While Rachel hadn’t appeared much in the story, I feel like she somehow gained so much rightful hatred with the little screen time she’d been given so far. What she did to Baam and Khun was unforgivable. She’ll get what’s coming to her when the time is right.
While everyone was happy to meet up again, Team Leesoo had to depart from Baam’s team because Team Leesoo were D-Rankers—everyone else was E-Rankers—and needed to keep moving up the Tower without them. They promised to meet soon though.
Baam, Rak, and Khun—with their new team—will catch up to them soon enough. Until then, they have another issue to deal with. Horyang hadn’t awakened since the end of the last arc because Cassano stole his “Devil of the Right Arm”, which meant their new mission was to find Cassano and retrieve that power back to wake their comrade. To do so, they enlisted Hwa Ryun’s help. She guided them to seek out the Hell Train on the 35th Floor, which was the best way to find Cassano—and Rachel too, unbeknownst to them.
The last page of the arc was an amazing payoff to Baam cutting off his hair—wow, gorgeous but also “I loved the long hair!”—as Hwa Ryun pondered what will happen once Baam and Rachel meet again and what the future will hold for them at the top of the Tower.
I shed real tears reading the Epilogue—the overall closer on The Workshop Battle. I’m honestly surprised I hadn’t exhausted myself out, especially since I stayed up past my bedtime to finish out this arc. There is also something going on with Ja Wangnan—he recovered too quickly from his fatal injury—and Ha Jinsung meeting with Karaka was also intriguing on the plot development front. I guess I’ll have to find out more when I read Tower of God Volume 2: The Hell Train!
Thanks for reading my Webtoon review, everyone! At this point, I might as well hop onto something called The Hell Train. That sounds like more misery is on the way… Let’s keep it climbing up the Tower. Yay?
