Grey's Anatomy 15x18 "Add It Up" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
The different rooms (“mood rooms”) was a nice change in setting. Maggie is trying to prove how environment affects people’s anxiety and stress, which brings a lot of our characters to said rooms to cool themselves. I loved the Jungle Room, where Meredith was hiding from DeLuca for most of the episode. Alex Karev is also worried for his wife, Jo, who is missing until the closing moments.
Richard Webber is faced with Toby, a genderqueer who uses “they/them” pronouns. He wonders why he has to adjust and how difficult it is for him to keep up with the latest news. This scenario reminds me of The Good Place’s season 3 message on how difficult it is being a good person nowadays. Richard is trying his best, and having everyone else on his ass about it doesn’t help.
Teddy-Owen-Koracick love triangle is crazy. I’m Team Koracick and anti-Owen. Dr. Hunt has to grow up and figure out what he wants for himself. I’m tired of him treating the women in his life horribly, and him trying to confuse Teddy is not helpful. They need to stay friends / parents and not romantic partners.
Koracick’s speech on fighting for her was spot-on, and how he called Owen out for choosing Amelia was perfect. He needs to go somewhere else and raise Leo alone for a few years.
DeLuca is lashing out at everyone and gets kicked off the Math Whiz’s case for pushing the mother too far. Alex is not having his personal issues affect the surgery, but in the end, DeLuca does save the day. He is able to convince the Math Whiz to consent, and that bullying is not the end of the world… she will find her people.
The Math Whiz — Nora — is a great character. Her interactions with the Dream Team was amazing. How Schmidt and Maggie fist clapped into each other got me LOLing.
Amelia and Link are pretty okay. I’m not too invested in this relationship yet. It seems like a hookup type deal that could turn into something, but I’m not sure. Either way, the new haircut on Amelia is amazing.
The ending with Jo — so sad — is getting me worried for my favorite character. She’s finally getting her standalone episode next week, and things are not looking great.
