Legacies 2x03 "You Remind Me Of Someone I Used To Know" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
The annual football game between Mystic Falls High and Salvatore School returned in this episode. The new headmaster, Professor Vardemus, uses this opportunity to show how superior the supernatural kids are compared to the normal humans. Half the kids love him, and the other half find him suspicious. Josie is starting to take a liking to the headmaster, who wants nothing more but for the kids to reach their full supernatural potential. Meanwhile, Hope hunts the monster of the week and helps Rafael become human again once she learned what happened to him.
Lizzie is building an interesting romance with Sebastian, an old-time vampire who may or may be real based on what MG discovered. I suspect that Sebastian is a Ghost and an ancient vampire who died but hadn’t realized it yet. The love triangle deepens…
Landon learns more about Hope, but not that he used to be in love with her. Josie is being “aggressive” in this episode and wants Hope to stay away from her boyfriend. It’s hurting me how they don’t remember each other. Josie and Hope need to become friends, again.
Alaric and Vardemus will continue to hate each other. I wonder if Caroline actually chose this weirdo to run the school, or if her replacement was taken over… because Vardemus definitely has ulterior motives for the Salvatore School, Josie, and the monsters coming back. Vardemus eat that beast who fed on werewolves, and that was gross.
The new sheriff Mac and her kids—Maya and Ethan—have potential as recurring characters. Having them around Hope during her time at Mystic Falls High will be interesting, especially Alaric who’s already connecting with the sheriff. I’m curious… where the hell did Matt Donovan go? His perfect ending from The Vampire Diaries is becoming the sheriff, and now that’s gone? He still has his bench, right?
Overall, this episode set-up more characters like bringing back Rafael and introducing Hope’s human friends who are also siblings, and we even got a sneak peek at Landon’s dorm room, also known as Stefan’s old attic room. Seeing it redesigned as a dorm was beautiful and obviously the best part of the whole episode.
