Station 19 2x07 "Weather The Storm" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please Read with Caution.
The major wind storm hits Seattle. While the Grey’s Anatomy Surgeons are dealing with an influx of patients, the Station 19 Crew is trying to celebrate Thanksgiving. They prepared food, alcohol, and even Dean opens up the Boat House for his friends. But then… the plot occurs and everyone remembers they’re firefighters.
Ben Warren and Miranda Bailey scene from the Grey’s Anatomy mid-season finale was reused for this episode. It’s like these two shows want the fans to watch both series. Crazy, right?
The Thanksgiving dinner is ruined! Or so they think… Everyone and everything just moves to the Fire Station. Ryan, his father, Pruitt, and Travis’ boyfriend all chill there while everyone else goes to work on this wind storm. Ryan confides in Pruitt about his father’s state warrant, but he advises Ryan to not do anything about it while this storm is going on.
At the conclusion of the episode, Ryan gives his father a choice: either run or turn himself in. If he runs, Ryan does not want to see him ever again. This is a tough decision for Greg.
Ripley and Vic’s romantic relationship develops. They’re cute together and that make-out/sex scene was steamy. Jack knows about them but chooses not to say anything about them. This is mostly because he has problems of his own.
Pruitt notices Jack’s erratic behavior and outbursts, almost getting into an altercation with Greg (Ryan’s father). Jack is not sleeping well and carries demons from the skyscraper. He needs some love and attention.
Andy and Sullivan shared a lot of screentime in this episode (hot!). These two are connecting on deeper levels and the team is starting to notice. The coffee dates, Andy going with Sullivan in the Aid Car in place of Maya, and how they’re opening up to each other. Sullivan told Andy the reason why he returned to Seattle… more like why he left: his “person” died—his wife.
Maya is getting promoted to Lieutenant and transferred over to Station 23. She calls Andy to talk about it, but Andy and Sullivan never returned from the emergency situation. Their car was blasted off the road by the wind storm and fates are left unknown—a solid cliffhanger.
Andy is going to live, she’s the “Grey” of Station 19, but that does not mean she’s safe. Sullivan, on the other hand, I don’t think they’ll kill him either. Misery and guilt are coming for them and those at Station 19. Maya was supposed to go instead of Andy, so she will not let this go. It’s like the Alex Karev and Arizona Robbins situation from the plane.
When does this show come back? I need answers!
