How To Get Away With Murder 5x02 "Whose Blood is That?" Episode Review
Major spoilers are included in this episode review.
For some reason, I think HTGAWM is starting to lose its steam. Other reviews have said it’s getting better, but for me, it seems like it’s getting to the point of redundancy. The mystery of the season is “who’s dead?” and “why did Bonnie do it?”… We have been down this road one too many times.
The client case was an interesting one this week. I think the episode would’ve been better if we focused more of our time on this… first of all it’s way more fascinating and it drives Michaela’s guilt over what she did to Simon. But we aren’t allowed to invest too much into this because we have other priorities like Frank and Gabriel.
Frank is playing pick-up basketball with Gabriel and is trying to figure out why the kid is here. The whole phone cloning was funny… who owns a flip phone anymore? That small concept pinned him as suspicious. What the hell is Gabriel and why has Frank taken it upon himself to deal with the problem?
Laurel has family problems… despite her mom and dad being out of the picture. I was kind of annoyed that this plot line was hanging around… cool?
Oliver and Michaela make somewhat amends based on Connor’s pushing. She’s one of their groomspeople! Yay?
Bonnie and Annalise talk about her personal feelings for Ron, Denver’s successor and right-hand. Even Annalise thinks Bonnie is stupid for liking the guy and risking a lot to be with him. Then we also find Nate investigating Bonnie’s baby and discovering a photo of someone who looks like Teenage Bonnie stealing him away from the hospital.
Asher is not important. He got a job somewhere else. What are they doing with him?
The flashforward brings together Bonnie, Baby Christopher, Laurel, and Michaela. Then Michaela notices the blood on Bonnie’s leg and utters the title of the episode…
Chills… “Whose blood is that?” … Seriously why is Bonnie killing people?
