This Is Us Season 5 Episode 8 "In The Room" Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
Wow. I cried so much watching this episode. I hadn’t cried on that level since season 1. The tears would not stop rolling for all the joy happening. I wasn’t expecting so much joy. The characters honestly deserved this episode of epic joy. The love story of Nasir and Esther Ahmed was also a great one to explore in addition to giving us knowledge of the one who gave us the technology needed to survive this ongoing pandemic. It’s honestly beautiful. The entire episode gets 10/10 for me.
The new Big Three babies are here. Madison gave birth to twins Franny and Nicholas. Katie supported Ellie with the labor, and was gifted a daughter named Hailey Rose Damon. Toby chose “Rose” after a man’s wife who had COVID-19 in the same hospital. Randall and Kevin are also finally ready to make amends, but they plan to wait for the right time. Right now, it’s time to celebrate the joys of life.
The flashback to Jack and Rebecca was also very beautiful, giving us insight on how much Rebecca carries Jack with her in present day. I’m hoping Rebecca and Miguel’s love story gets explored soon because the writers have set something up here with Rebecca’s appreciation speech. Miguel bears everything so differently in his marriage to Rebecca. It’s honestly time to learn how they fell in love.
Thank you so much for reading this episode review. It’s a brief but joyous one. I’ll see you all next time for the newest episode on Tuesday!
P.S. I’m surprised nobody dropped the series’ name “This Is Us” when the painting was shown.
