Digimon Adventure REBOOT Episode 37 "Mimi-chan Wars" Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
Episode 37—“Mimi-chan Wars”—gave Mimi the much deserved spotlight. While she didn’t get a Rosemon Mega Digivolution, Mimi did get sweet character development, awesome moments of bossing Tai around, and a brand new Lilymon digivolution. It’s such a refresher to see Mimi get so much attention. The episode was a filler one, but I didn’t care. Watching this episode brought me so much joy.
Patamon and Gatomon had a cute moment. Agumon and Tai did a dumb thing to fall in the river while getting some food. Izzy, TK, and Kari were delayed from coming to Mimi, Sora, and Tai because their ride fell asleep. This was so much fun!!! The reboot series is a funny thing. Episodes like this should’ve been happening from the start. It’s looking like next week is going to be darker though, with Matt and Gabumon getting the spotlight.
I also enjoyed Mimi trying to help the Digimon getting abused because capitalism is wrong. All the Digimon like Golemon and Gotsumon were forced to work in mines so [] can eat all the rubies and sapphires. Mimi naming them all different names was such a cute moment. This episode was all-around amazing (triple A) for Mimi!
Golemon had dialogue too! Wow! He spoke and loved being Mimi’s Servan No. 99! How Sora and Tai got roped into the whole filler plot was so fun. This episode was just so fun! It cannot be stress enough how much fun we needed for this reboot series. The Digimon Writers must love Mimi too, but can only do so much because she isn’t Tai or Matt. But it is sad that Matt does get snubbed too, like he is definitely #2 to Tai’s #1.
However, in this episode, Tai barely did anything. He got bossed around, only got Agumon up to Greymon, and watched in awe of Mimi’s awesomeness. It was cool! Honestly, we need more of Tai being sidelined in future episodes. Mimi is officially immune to Tai’s “main character syndrome”. Even in the original series, Mimi never allowed Tai to push her around. Remember Digimon: The Movie when Mimi went on vacation while Diaboromon threatened the world, thus refusing Tai’s phone calls?
Anyways, this episode was amazing. I’m so glad I stayed up until 2am to watch it… after I watched The Promised Neverland and This Is Us before then. I was doing a marathon catch up night. That’s how I spend my Saturday nights…
Thanks for reading this episode review, everyone! I’ll see you all next week in the Digital World!
P.S. I have started a YouTube Channel for Digimon TCG and my other children’s card game interests in addition to Dungeons & Dragons content once I start getting my Rise of Tiamat campaign up and running again. I’m also running a giveaway contest for 2 Yellow Starter Decks I found at Target. Once I reach 100 subscribers, I will draw a name from those who entered and give that person the two decks (without packs).
