Genshin Impact “Chapter 3: Lost and Found” (Part 1 + Part 2) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On October 13, 2020, I started and finished Genshin Impact Webtoon’s Chapter 3: Lost and Found” Parts 1 and 2. This chapter—shorter in both parts compared to the previous chapters—focused on Amber helping the mysterious young girl she found at the end of Chapter 2.
While the exposition was handled somewhat better in this chapter than the previous ones, I thought Amber’s character and motives could’ve been explored more. I did like how Amber and the mysterious young girl were the only characters in chapter 3, but how they ended up working together seemed rushed and lazy.
The chapter mainly focused on the mysterious young girl and her tragic backstory to explain why she was acting the way she was throughout both parts of this chapter. While the artwork continues to impress me and the world-building of the video game was heavily present with extra details I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise, I still feel as though the story could use more work. Also, Jean and Lisa made appearances at the end of this chapter, but the story hadn’t properly introduced them yet.
I’m thinking Amber should be the main protagonist based on this plot direction, but right now the chapters seem more designed to be short stories with weak connections to each other in the world of Genshin Impact. So, Amber might phase out of the story soon.
I am curious to learn more about the mysterious young girl’s story—beyond the exposition dump we were already given—but it is what is, since this series was released back in 2018. I’m hoping more chapters will be released in the near future, but the video game is already making up for a lot of my displeasure with the Webtoon series. So, like I said in my Chapter 2: Flame Born Webtoon review, it’s an interesting mixed bag for me.
Thanks for reading this Webtoon review, everyone! Let’s keep it reading and keep it playing too for those Genshin Impact players!
