Tower of God Volume 2: The Hell Train: “Yuri Zahard” (Episodes 196 and 197) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On September 15, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 2: The Hell Train’s seventh story arc: “Yuri Zahard”. The two-episode arc gave us a break from the epic stuff that went down in the previous arc, giving the reader time to process and love Yuri’s well-deserved screen time. In addition, I’m happy Baam stopped Yuri from leaving them so soon—she wanted to punish Yu Han Sung on the Floor of Test—and convincing her to accompany them to the Floor of Death instead. There are other places these characters want to run off to, but they have to go to a place called the Name Hunt Station first.
Ja Wangnan also returned in this short arc—he was trapped inside a dagger for most of the previous arc—depressed as hell for being useless. Wangnan had become one of my favorite characters at this point, so it was sad to see him regress like that. Luckily, Hwa Ryun talked some sense into him. Aside from Wangnan returning to the story, there were many fan-favorites making their comeback too for the next arc!
Team Leesoo—Androssi and Anak—plus Khun Ran and his team are also returning to the story. Daniel was phased out of the story in this arc too, making peace with Baam—and also Roen’s death after everything he had done on board The Hell Train. With his timely departure, this will give the old characters more room to roam around the pages!
Thank you, SIU! This was a beautiful gift you gave to all us readers! I’m excited—HYPED—to see Yuri Zahard more involved in the story, the old characters returning to for the next arc, and how everything will pan out regarding Yuri Zahard’s test on who can come on the trip to the Floor of Death. I want Yuri, Androssi, and Anak to have a Princess meet-up at some point during the next arc.
Yuri and Androssi would have an interesting character dynamic considering their romantic feelings for Baam. I’m also curious to see how things will work out for Rachel—the girl Baam actually wants for some dumb reason—and her plan to obtain a Thorn while keeping Hoaqin as a subordinate. How she managed to pull off that trick made me so angry.
I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next on Tower of God! Let’s keep it climbing up the Tower! I’m officially hitting the 200’s episodes next!
