Tower of God Volume 2: The Last Station: “New Wave” (Episodes 336 and 337) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On September 26, 2020, I started and finished Tower of God Volume 2: The Last Station’s final story arc: “New Wave”. This was also Volume 2’s final arc. I’m officially heading into the Webtoon’s Volume 3—the last 67 episodes that are available to read—after this arc. I’m excited to see how Volume 3 is currently shaping up.
This arc was the aftermath of what happened at The Last Station, with Team Baam escaping the place with Team Leesoo’s help. Evan and Karaka escape together too, but Yuri stays behind to get captured on purpose. Yuri wants a chance to confront her father—Zahard—about wanting to kill Baam. In the meantime, Evan vows to help wake up Khun from his eternal slumber. Karaka has unfinished business with Wangnan.
Ha Jinsung is confirmed to be alive, but held captive by Khun Maschenny. She has plans to use Ha Jinsung to make a “bloody mess” in the Tower. Apparently, Baam is the key to making that dream a reality. Speaking of teachers, Evankhell has decided to offer Baam a chance to become her student.
Baam is still grieving over Ha Jinsung’s “death” and afraid of Kallavan hurting the people he cares about, but Rak gives him a pep talk about being the hunter and not the hunted. After this talk, Baam decides to train under Evankhell to chase after Kallavan.
Loose ends were essentially being tied up—the transitional arc—before heading into the next story arc. Team Leesoo is putting their Tower climbing on hold, so they can help wake up Khun. Hwa Ryun has secret motives, keeping in contact with Karaka about his connection to Wangnan. Miseng and Wangnan were also leaving Team Baam without saying goodbye to check on Horyang—the Devil of the Right Arm—who may be awake now.
Overall, Tower of God Volume 2 ended on a high-note. Baam is getting ready to get stronger for his master’s sake, and so many other storylines are being set in motion. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the next 67 episodes. Hopefully, SIU finishes his well-deserved break soon. I want to read more episodes (LOL).
