Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle: “Tournament” (Episodes 81 through 84) Webtoon Review
Major Spoilers are included in this Webtoon Review. Please read with caution.
On September 7, 2020, I started and finished reading Tower of God Volume 2: The Workshop Battle’s tenth story arc: “Tournament”. After the Tournament rules are explained by IO and Punk—the hosts—Ja Wangnan immediately runs toward the summoning station for more allies. Seeing Wangnan, Rak, Yihwa, Akraptor, and Quaetro heading into the semi-finals was a beautiful sight to behold.
While the arc gave Wangnan decent screen time fighting Tebo & Lebo—with Khun’s strategic help—and gathering said team together, this story arc was more heavily focused on Team FUG and Viole’s search for the real Thorn.
Beta also met up with Viole and explained the Thorn’s significance and the role Viole must play to revive the weapon. The arc—using flashback scenes—explained how Beta and Team Mad Dog manipulated events to make everything go according to plan.
Of course, there was more betrayal happening in this arc with teammates switching sides and attacking each other. Novick and Viole switched from Team FUG to Team Mad Dog against Reflejo, but then members of Team Mad Dog were revealed to be working for Reflejo.
Tower of Betrayal strikes again.
Overall, not much happened in this story arc other than the plot twists toward the end regarding Viole, the Tower of Betrayal moments, the semi-finals being shaken up due to those betrayals, and the real Thorn weapon trying to activate. The next arc should be an interesting one. Thanks for reading this short Webtoon review, everyone! Let’s keep it climbing up the Tower!
