Blog Update #6
Hello everyone,
I apology for the lack of blogging, but a lot’s been going on since the Holidays started back in November. I was going through a lot, finishing up my novel, issues with the D&D group that long been resolved, and my Writers Group needed some house cleaning. Also, my Grandmother passed away earlier in 2020.
The end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 needed my presence. Thus, I allowed the blog site to suffer while I dealt with everything that threatened to tear me down. I’m not stronger for it, but I found the strength that was inside me all along. Now that’s out of the way, I’m going to discuss what my blog will be about in 2020 future:
First, I will still be doing episode reviews but the shows I’m reviewing will be significantly cut down. I will pick and choose specific television shows in a future post, but I can’t keep up with the current workload. While I love all the TV shows, I’m only one writer and there are hundreds of shows out there. I can’t review them all no matter how much I may want to.
Green Arrow and the Canaries backdoor pilot, Crisis on Infinite Earths, and Arrow’s series finale are the episode reviews I definitely plan on doing these upcoming weeks. The other shows, aside from Supernatural and Legacies, are basically expendable. I’ll keep everyone updated.
Second, I will work on time management and doing blog posts that are more focused on writing and Dungeons & Dragons. Those are my most consistent works and life passions. I want to share more writing, and D&D is the closest thing I can deliver without giving too much away of unpublished work. These are weekly stories I create with my players. It’s a good way to give people a glimpse of my writing skills. I am a better writer because of an elaborate improve game loaded with many dice.
A Dungeons & Dragons blog post centered on how I DM will be written and posted sometime this week as well. I haven’t talked nearly enough about this game with you crazy blog readers. My awesome players and I started a new campaign after ending our six-month one. So, sharing what I learned and how I plan to improve seems like the right path to make in order to share to those curious or interested in the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
Writing Novel Updates will be happening more often in 2020. I always wanted to write posts in the past, but the time or interest wasn’t happening. In addition, sharing what I want to share is sometimes scary to me because… well, the Internet is a terrifying place. But, my current Writers Group is a helpful support group that satisfies my need to chat with like-minded writers who understand the struggle to open up and be vulnerable. I like being vulnerable, but that’s something not everyone is gifted with. I wasn’t born to be naturally vulnerable either… I had to work on it everyday until it became natural.
Overall, I’m doing better. I’m working on it. Every day. I’m writing everyday. I’m planning sessions and arcs for my D&D. One day at a time. That’s all it takes to write a single word—a sentence. Then I write the next sentence. Thanks for being patient with me, readers.
I’ll be seeing you at my next blog post.
