How To Get Away With Murder 6x04 "I Hate The World" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
Michaela Pratt took center stage as the hunt for her biological father, a big lawyer named Solomon Vick, comes to a head in the latest episode. Nobody messes with her, especially Gabriel, as she does whatever it takes to punish her father for abandoning her at birth, and the consequences it had on her life, not taking kindly to his feminist speech at Ted Talk-like presentation that’s kind-of sexist in itself.
She is not impressed with Solomon Vick’s supports on feminism and on the second day of presentations, Michaela practically attacks him during Q&A. While Michaela says “Laurel Castillo” is her name, Solomon Vick is able to tell this is his daughter immediately, and he tells her so when they meet again in his hotel room. When she broke in without Gabriel’s support… this guy had to go if he wasn’t going to support her in the craziness.
Gabriel spends a good portion of the episode listening into Sam’s session recordings with Annalise Keating about her feelings for Eve, which was the reason why he refused to keep helping with Michaela’s self-destructive plan of punishing her father, instead of having a conversation with him. He confronts Annalise at the end of the episode, thinking she was the one who seduced Sam and not the other way around like she claimed. Alright then… that accusation is going to be a no from me.
Annalise deals with a dating app case that makes her reevaluate her sexual orientation and how she’s treated on these apps as a black woman, something that she shares with Tegan. However, she’s able to put her paranoia at rest for awhile to go on this ice cream date with another lawyer. He knows her Google history and doesn’t seem bothered. It’s great!
Other things went on in the episode like Connor and Oliver having a threesome, Bonnie and Nate are working together, but Bonnie is having second doubts as she continues to work with Tegan and getting too close about certain divorce papers that she read right off the desk… learn boundaries, Bonnie!
The flash forward ends with Michaela wanting to know if Connor’s okay, but nobody answers. OMG IS CONNOR OKAY?
