A shorter session than usual. We decided to introduce beer IRL, and that made the adventure way funnier. Last session, the Enforcers + Captain Leon NPC left Elturiel, having taken a boat from Leon’s good friend Anthony, the Captain of the Order of Gauntlet Squad. This is an important detail I mentioned once in the last session.
Anyways, the Enforcers take to the waters for Baldur’s Gate, the most corrupt city in the Sword Coast. They are planning to retrieve a Dragon Egg allegedly in the city, and also a caravan is set for Waterdeep. The Enforcers must infiltrate the caravan as hired men for the criminals on-board in order to keep tabs on the Cult of the Dragon, who are also on the caravan transporting a potential Dragon Egg but definitely the loot they stole from Greenest.
To make a in-game reason for our behavior, Captain Leon introduces “special tea” that he makes, and XerX drinks the most of the tea. XerX’s best moments happen in this session. Kai-tick and Menos also have great moments, but XerX’s was wonderfully great for even Kai-tick and Menos themselves were amazed.
First, Kai-tick gave into his fear of water and damaged the boat as a result. Menos had to plug the hole with his Legendary Shield. Then, XerX nat-20 a tattoo on his chest. His PC carved into his skin, making a random symbol the player drew IRL. This made the whole table go crazy. XerX’s perfect tattoo. I wish I could put the symbol on here, but I was DM and didn’t think to take a picture. It was so cool!
Then, a boat of Goblins came after the Enforcers wanting their gold pieces back. XerX recognized them as the same group he stole from in the last session. XerX and Kai-tick killed all the Goblins. Menos swam to get the Goblin’s boat for “emergency uses”. XerX protested, and Kai-tick agreed when he learned it would make the trip down the River longer. Kai-tick’s fear of water is an interesting weakness to exploit.
A black vessel (think Fire Nation ships) soon approached them. They demanded Captain Leon alive, but the rest of the Enforcers dead. A Taxbaxi (cat-like person) was the Captain named “T”. I was going to say Tigress from Kung Fu Panda but I couldn’t allow myself to do it. Kai-tick flew up the ship first to attack T while a bunch of Knights descend to the River, able to water walk, and prepared to raid the Enforcers.
XerX was making power moves against the Knights. Menos assisted XerX using his Warlock powers. Kai-tick and T fought using Wuya Style with Kai-tick taking charge. Then, the situations somehow switched for the Enforcers.
T escaped Kai-tick and went to face Captain Leon. The Knights escaped XerX and Menos and ran into Kai-tick the Kin-slayer. XerX, Menos, and Captain Leon battled T. Leon, also drunk off his tea, was unable to best his former student. XerX decided to summon Kenji and perform that Fusion Dance to become the Black Bulls Defender (BBD). Meanwhile, Kai-tick went Bankai, activating his Corpse Eater’s final form as Soul Eater, but failed to escape the 24 Knights. He was tied up and humiliated. The Knights rolled high 18 and a Nat 20. Kai-tick got a low 2 / Nat 1.
Menos ended up facing T alone as Leon was drunk off the tea in a bad way, and XerX was drunk in a good way. XerX BBD went to take the ship, and ended up saving Kai-tick from the Knights’ torture. Kai-tick was set free, and redeemed himself by helping BBD defeat all the Knights. Menos managed to kill T using his BBC Great Sword. Kai-tick saw waters, and fainted. Luckily, Captain Leon recovered and swam Kai-tick back to the Mass Vessel they acquired.
The Enforcers were happy to take over the bigger ship, and allowed Anthony’s smaller boat to sink into the bottom of the ocean. Menos summoned for his Legendary Shield before that happened. They also learned randomly that they had Lord Eggza’s clothes. Kai-tick considered wearing the uniform, but decided it might not be best to steal his identity again. They search around the inside of their ship, outside the damages they made, and find a Goblin named Coblin steering their new ship.
Kai-tick demands to know who Coblin is, and they learn he is a simple slave who was taken from his family. The Enforcers begin to lecture him about abandoning families. Coblin begged for his life and promised to take them back to Baldur’s Gate if he were spared. They agreed because nobody knew how to steer the ship in the right direction.
Afterwards, they relax in their new “Fire Nation” ship. Everyone decides to long rest. The session ends with Menos having a dream about Lina NPC wife and his mother Martha. I know how that sounds, but this is a dream that has actual meaning. Martha warns Lina and Menos that if they do not… make their marriage official in the bedroom before the baby is born, the last curse she placed on Menos will break. Evil cousins. Menos is mad. XerX goes to sleep IRL. We stopped as a result on this… very odd cliffhanger.
Stay tuned for the next Dungeons & Dragons session! The Enforcers are on their way to Baldur’s Gate.
