Supergirl 4x17 "All About Eve" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
Supergirl, Alex, and Lena are the new trinity. They need to learn Supergirl is Kara Danvers, and this team alone could carry the rest of the series. Lena Luthor is on the path of becoming good, and earned the recognition she deserved from Supergirl. I’m glad we’re seeing the bright side of things too like when we learn why Eve joined Lex Luthor.
Martian Manhunter seeing his father again was a great scene. There was clear tension because we had to question his intentions. The humor is well-executed, but the detective arc is pointless. The new setting is literally there to give the Superfriends somewhere to hang out. J’onn should’ve told Kara he was leaving off-world too. Kind of rude to leave without saying anything.
Alex not knowing her sister is Supergirl isn’t adding anything.
Red Daughter slaughtering the people at the White House was dark for this show. I was going through things like James, who has a brand new storyline involving trauma. It took the entire season to give him something and Kelly, his sister, is an interesting addition to the show. Not sure how I feel about her yet.
Overall, this is one of the best episodes in awhile. The character moments worked, and the absence of Lex added tension in all the scenes. Lex Luthor is a serious threat.
