Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Movie Review
Major Spoilers are included in this movie review. Please read with caution.
I wrote Spider-Man: Far From Home and thought, “Maybe I should share my views on this Spider-People” movie too. Yes, I said “Spider-People” and not “Spider-Men”. Anyways, I watched this movie when it was released on Netflix during the summer. Into the Spider-Verse follows Mile Morales as he gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes Spider-Man. However, the kicker in this beautifully animated story is the addition of the Spider-People from six different dimensions that make up the dream team: Peter B. Parker, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Penni Parker.
The animation was gorgeous. The best way to describe it is, “A classic comic book brought to life”. The talk bubbles, the different animations of the Spider-People, their interactions and hilarious inability to get along due to their differences especially with Miles Morales being the newest Spider-Man in his universe. I watched this movie with my brother and sisters, and we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was.
I love the recurring theme that all Spider-People “Get Back Up”. This is a quote that gets told throughout the movie as the life lesson, which is already better and more refresh than Uncle Ben’s advice on power and responsibility. When Miles got knocked down during the final battle sequence, I even shouted “Get Back Up!” right at my television screen.
Overall, this movie was too amazing for words. This was mostly why it took me so long to write this movie review. The characters are amazing, the plot seems complicated but it really isn’t, and the villains in here are Kingpin, Green Goblin, and four other ones that have spoilers attached. Yeah, that sounds like a lot of villains, but this movie found a way to balance mostly everything out. I enjoyed it a lot and got myself lost in the animation a lot.
Go, Spider-People! We want those spin-offs and sequels ASAP!
