The Good Place 3x10 "Janet(s)" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
After watching this fun episode, The Good Place deserves a fourth season. This show has lots of creative juices floating around in Janet’s Void and holds great expectations for its world and characters. D’Arcy Carden (Janet) played a total of six characters in this explosive part of the story: Chidi-Janet, Tahani-Janet, Eleanor-Janet, Jason-Janet, Janet OG, and Neutral Janet.
D’Arcy Carden was prepared. She knew how to approach every single one of these characters and make us feel “this is Jason!” The original actors must’ve coached her or aided Carden in some capacity to help get her into their characters. It was astounding to watch these “Janets” interact with each other, especially Eleanor and Chidi.
Eleanor and Chidi have the relationship talk but in the form of Janets. However, I was able to picture the original characters in her stead. Similar to how Deadpool is able to express distinct emotions through his mask and for some reason, we can all imagine a mouth on him.
While the humans nearly destroy Janet’s Void, Michael and Janet OG travel to the Accountant’s and discover a horrifying truth. No human has been able to enter The Good Place in over 500 years!! Michael is forced to learn that The Bad Place hasn’t tampered with the point system at all… The system is flawed and condemns everyone even Doug Forcett, who acclaimed the most points out of anyone alive.
Fork! That’s some forked up shirt!
The mid-season finale ends with the Soul Squad escaping to The Good Place. The REAL one! Eleanor tries to swear but ends up forking up. The direction of the show is refreshing and I am excited to see where this new revelation takes the team next.
Not sure when the show will resume with new episodes. I believe it’s January but don’t take my word for it. There shouldn’t be that many episodes left either in the season. I’ll see you all in The Good Place. Happy Holidays!
