DC's Legends of Tomorrow 4x08 "Legends of To-Meow-Meow" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
No. The Legends are not a part of the annual crossover. They have ignored the distress calls of Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, and Kara Zor-El. Everyone is too busy destroying time. Well… John is too busy with destroying time. The whole thing was a lot of fun, but the reasoning behind the shifts were not 100% believable. Specifically, the Custodians of the Universe and the Sirens of Space-time (SOS) would not really happen… they wouldn’t turn into cold-blooded killers when members of their team die.
When Leonard Snart and Professor Stein died to save the world, the Legends didn’t turn dark… except Mick Rory, but everyone else grieved and drank in honor of them. I’d assume the team would do the same for Sara when she got struck by a unicorn or when the Fairy Godmother killed the boys. Instead, the plot forced the team to become murderers and their personalities are over the top cruel.
Cat Zari is super cute and the Puppet Legends were adorable. When they all started singing… how creepy and off-key. I loved it all, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. We all knew what John Constantine had to do… it was the same thing Barry Allen had to do in Flashpoint. He needed to course correct his mistake and put his love Desmond back on the path to Hell.
The timeline is reset back to normal. Constantine confesses to Sara about the demon Neron coming after him. We also learn that Hank is secretly working with Neron, who has taken on Desmond’s human form.
Overall, I thought this mid-season finale was fun but didn’t justify the reasoning behind a lot of the outcomes. Even Charlie’s reason to stay in Amaya’s form was pretty weak. I’d rather she become the original actress from “Dancing Queen” and somehow learn she preferred looking like Amaya. I’m not convinced she likes being Amaya yet. Maybe not ever.
No more Legends of Tomorrow until April. We have a long four months ahead for those who don’t watch the other three shows or Black Lightning. I plan to watch the latter and get ready for season two’s mid-season premiere.
Catch you all on the time stream!
