Arrow 7x06 "Due Process" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please Read with Caution.
Felicity and Laurel E2 are my favorite characters this season. Or at least the two of them paired up are incredible. The dynamic is fresh, fun, and really entertaining. They are developing nicely next to each other and it shows in every scene they share. While Laurel E2 is embracing the redemption arc she should’ve gotten last season, Felicity is descending down the evil path and according to the flash forwards, the darkness sticks inside her.
Let’s talk about Laurel E2 some more before getting back to Felicity and the other important characters. If Season 7 is doing anything correctly, it’s Black Siren. The frustration and lack of gratitude is expressed really well especially in her scenes with Oliver Queen, who is quick to point out that she isn’t a real lawyer. It baffles me that Black Siren managed to get away with being the DA of Star City and how she is able to represent Oliver without much issue.
Oliver Queen and Black Siren hadn’t gotten the chance to interact yet this season. I enjoyed the tension and animosity they have for each other over the events of the finale and how Black Siren is not “Laurel”. The chemistry between Katie Cassidy and Stephen Amell is potent. I’m legit hoping Felicity is really dead and in the flash forwards, Oliver and Laurel E2 managed to become a couple.
Ricardo Diaz and the Longbow Hunters are ready to cause trouble. He is plotting his revenge on Team Arrow and intends to blow up the city. He took a page out of every other villain’s book who attempted this. I’m surprised how well-constructed the fight scenes were, and the Silencer’s arrival is also a pleasure with the sound damping. The New Green Arrow even joins the fight and takes credit for taking down Diaz.
Apparently, this capture is going to be a part of his master plan as next week’s trailer shows him breaking into the prison. Let’s hope this is the Diaz’s last stand and the Longbow Hunters take over the reigns as the main antagonists. The group of assassins are arguably the better and interesting villains… I mean we know nothing about them or why they’re even helping Diaz in the first place.
The prison story is about Oliver and his best pal Stanley. As usual, Oliver has to protect his friend after he is blamed for a guard’s death. Oliver investigates and is able to find the murder weapon, which belongs to Bronze Tiger. This evidence puts Bronze Tiger in the hole. However, the episode’s last minutes reveal Stanley may not be 100% innocent. Oliver’s trust in Stanley is officially broken.
At this rate, Oliver should be ready for the Elseworlds crossover in December.
