DC's Legends of Tomorrow 4x16 "Hey, World" Episode Review
Major Spoilers are included in this episode review. Please read with caution.
This episode did everything to wrap things up. This season has been the most ridiculous one yet, but it wasn’t the best one. Out of all the Arrowverse shows this year, this season is definitely my favorite in terms of having fun. It had heart, character, and it was on-the-nose about everything. The Monitor even stopped by during the closing moments to watch the nonsense unfold.
John and Nora were trapped in Hell looking to save Ray, while the rest of the Legends are trying to build Hey, World in time to show everyone magical creatures are good. Yeah, this show is sometimes hard to swallow. I enjoy it so much. Luckily, borderline lazy writing perhaps, the magic book they needed was already in their possession thanks to Mick already stealing it from the Time Bureau’s magic vault.
Then in Hell, there were screams of terror coming from Ray’s prison, but based on the countless times I’ve seen this scenario in television, Ray was okay. I was right in that aspect, but the next part was completely unexpected. Ray was okay and playing Jenga with Vandal Savage. What in the literal hell?
The one serious plotline happening in the finale was Zari. Since acceptance of monsters could change the future, she has to stay on the Waverider to prevent the changes from hitting her. However, when she sees Nate die, Zari decides to risk it so she can bring him back to life with a singalong. Everyone sings, and all is good.
In my opinion, Nate’s story appeared over (whole circle vibe and literal circle), and bringing him back might’ve been a mistake. I don’t know what else they can do with him except find out Zari was taken through the changes in time. Nate keeps falling in love with girls from different time periods like huh.
Overall, I’m excited for season 5 and their involvement in the ultimate Arrowverse crossover event. And I hope Zari comes back too. Everything wrapped up nicely, but the character count needs to go down.
